Kerry Alys Robinson has been named the new CEO of Catholic Charities USA, the domestic humanitarian arm of the Catholic Church in the United States. Catholic Charities USA is responsible for providing assistance to over 15 million people each year through its 167 member agencies and 3,900 locations across the country. Robinson, an experienced Catholic leadership expert and philanthropist, expressed her deep honor and humility at being given the opportunity to serve those in need. She will officially begin her new role on August 23.

Robinson’s appointment was met with enthusiasm and unanimous support from the board of Catholic Charities USA. Neal Black, the board chair, believes that Robinson’s passion, expertise, and insight will greatly benefit both the organization and the vulnerable individuals it serves. Robinson is known for her devotion to the Church and her commitment to empowering and engaging women leaders. She is the second woman and second layperson to lead the national agency.

Robinson brings a wealth of experience to her new position. She is an executive partner of Leadership Roundtable, an influential organization dedicated to promoting best practices in management and leadership within Catholic organizations. She is also the executive director of the Opus Prize Foundation, which honors individuals and organizations of any faith background that alleviate human suffering. In addition, Robinson has published work on fundraising and philanthropy and has advised Church figures on empowering women leaders.

Catholic Charities USA’s outgoing president and CEO, Sister Donna Markham, expressed confidence in Robinson’s appointment and believes that her visionary leadership and commitment to serving those in need will bring out the best in the organization’s staff, volunteers, and supporters.

Catholic Charities USA is a leading provider of various projects and services, including hunger relief, housing assistance, disaster aid, health care, job training, and assistance for migrants and refugees. In their latest annual report, the organization’s member agencies fed 12 million people, provided 1.9 million nights of emergency shelter, and offered various forms of assistance to migrants and refugees and behavior health and wellness services to over 600,000 individuals.

Robinson’s appointment has been warmly welcomed by Bishop Frank J. Dewane of the Diocese of Venice, who serves as the U.S. bishops’ liaison to Catholic Charities. He believes that her vast experience and skills will greatly benefit both the organization and those it serves.

With her extensive background and commitment to Catholic philanthropy, Kerry Alys Robinson is poised to lead Catholic Charities USA in its mission to serve the most vulnerable members of society. Her appointment reflects the organization’s ongoing dedication to providing aid and support to those in need.
