Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan praised the Police force in the state for helping to maintain peace and tranquility in spite of attempts by communal elements to create conflict. He was speaking at the State Conference of the Kerala Police Officers Association.
Vijayan pointed out that Kerala is known as one of the least corrupt states in India. He lauded the police officers for their hard work and dedication and warned that any attempt towards corruption would be taken seriously and those found indulging in it will be brought to justice. He said that the fight against the ‘drug mafia’ is an area where strong action is needed.
The Chief Minister expressed his solidarity against attempts by communal forces to create conflict in the state. He said that these attempts will not succeed due to the conditions in the state. He further added that the atmosphere in the state must remain peaceful and an endeavour should be made to make people cooperate with that effort.
Kerala Police Officers Association is an organisation of police officers from the Kerala Police Service. It works towards building a strong and capable police system in the state and provides support to its members in matters related to their duty. The organisation also works to ensure more effective utilisation of the police force in the state.
Pinarayi Vijayan is the current Chief Minister of Kerala. A politician and former member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Vijayan has earned recognition as a champion of social justice and secularism in India. He is renowned for his initiatives towards the upliftment of economically and socially weaker sections in Kerala. He is also known for his emphasis on good governance and fiscal prudence.
