The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council of India (ESC) have signed an MoU to promote electronics and software units based in Kashmir. The agreement will support mentoring and organisation of buyer-seller meetings as well as sharing of knowledge and best practices in the sector. The MoU was signed in the presence of J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who congratulated the two entities and highlighted the benefits the deal will bring to the electronic and IT sector in Jammu Kashmir. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, J&K UT has achieved several milestones in digitalisation to keep pace with competition, to help rapidly growing the economy, and to bring efficiency and transparency in public service delivery, said Sinha. The cooperation between the stakeholders can play a role in establishing J&K UT as an IT hub in North India.
