The state government of Karnataka has allocated funds for the modernization of task forces established to address human-animal conflicts. With Rs 10 crore dedicated to this cause, efforts will be made to enhance the efficiency of these task forces. Additionally, the government has set aside Rs 15 crore for the development of grassland tourism in Bidar.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasized the importance of mitigating human-animal conflicts by allocating resources to prevent elephants from encroaching on human habitats. Significant investments have already been made in erecting barricades along railway lines, with plans for further expansion. Moreover, the establishment of specific task forces aimed at managing interactions with elephants and leopards has been a focal point, with Bandipur slated to receive additional support worth Rs 10 crore.
The State Budget also highlighted eco-friendly initiatives like tree planting through the Green Karnataka program. Furthermore, plans were unveiled to promote eco-tourism in grassland reserves and enhance water quality monitoring efforts in various locations. The budget addresses key environmental concerns while promoting sustainable practices for the benefit of all residents.
