The Karnataka cabinet meeting, which was eagerly awaited, has commenced at the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru. During the polls, the Congress government promised to deliver on five guarantees which include free rice for individuals from BPL families, an allowance of Rs 2,000 for the woman head of a family, allowances of Rs 3,000 and Rs 1,500 for unemployed graduates and diploma holders respectively, free bus travel for women, and 200 units of free electricity. It has been announced that these guarantees will be implemented in a phased manner after overcoming administrative hurdles. The criteria for eligibility will need to be met for the implementation of the schemes. The Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah and DyCM D.K. Shivakumar gave their word to the people of the state and have proclaimed that they will keep their promises. The implementation for these schemes will help the poor in the state.
