On the topic of the anti-cow-slaughter law, the Chief Minister stated that the matter is to be discussed in the Cabinet following confusion over the lack of clarity of the existing legislation. Siddaramaiah added that he has instructed officials to prepare for the re-opening of Indira Canteens, which had previously closed due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
