BJP Leader Holds Bihar CM Responsible for Death of Party Worker, Calls it Jangalraj Returns
In a recent turn of events, the leader of the opposition in the Bihar Assembly and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Samrat Choudhary, has blamed the Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, for the death of a party worker during a protest in Patna. Choudhary addressed the media and strongly criticized the state government, referring to it as a return to jungleraj (lawlessness).
Expressing his anger, Choudhary directly accused Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav of being responsible for the death of the party worker, Vijay Singh. He stated, It all happened because of Kursi Kumar (Nitish Kumar). I am alleging directly that Vijay Singh was murdered due to Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav. You murdered him, Nitish Babu. There are many party workers who sustained injuries. The Bihar government has failed the state on the law and order grounds.
The unfortunate incident occurred during a protest organized by the BJP against the Bihar government’s teacher recruitment policy. The party has been protesting in support of the teachers’ demand to immediately fill vacancies and restore the domicile clause.
Choudhary took a dig at Nitish Kumar, comparing the current situation in Bihar to that of West Bengal since Nitish Kumar sought Mamata Banerjee’s protection. He claimed that since Nitish Kumar formed an alliance with Banerjee, the conditions in Bihar have become similar to those of Bengal.
In response to the tragedy, the BJP has declared that they will observe a black day on Friday, protesting against the Nitish Kumar government. The party has requested time from the Governor to brief them on the incident and raise questions about the police’s use of force during the protest.
However, the Patna district administration has refuted the BJP’s allegations, stating that the deceased party worker did not even reach the protest site. According to the administration, there was a stampede, and Vijay Singh fell unconscious as people started running back. He was immediately rushed to the hospital but was declared brought dead by doctors.
Nevertheless, senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi has taken a strong stand against the police, declaring that the party will file a case against the officials under the section for murder. He expressed sorrow over the incident and held Nitish Kumar responsible for the death.
Chirag Paswan, chief of the Lok Janshakti Party, also condemned the Bihar government and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the tragic incident. He demanded answers from the CM and criticized the use of force against those who raise their voices against the state government.
