John Battle emerged as the victorious team in the Mountain 7 District volleyball match against Union. Peyton Taylor also played a significant role with 16 kills of her own. George Griffis showcased his skills as the team’s setter, dishing out 39 assists. Rylee Blevins dug out 17 digs, while Madeline Greear added seven kills to support the team’s victory. Gracie Statzer stood out for Abingdon with 18 kills, 18 digs, and three blocks.

In a late Tuesday match, Rye Cove emerged victorious in a marathon five-set match against Twin Springs in the Cumberland District. Gracie Turner contributed 18 kills, 15 digs, and nine service points for Rye Cove, while Jalynn Rogers added 16 kills, 23 digs, 17 service points, and three aces. The Eagles displayed a strong team effort with contributions from Natalie Fannon, Naquila Harless, Gracie Byrd, Allison Akers, Brooke Walker, and Alidia Kern.

Overall, these matches showcased the talent and competitiveness of the teams in their respective districts. The players’ impressive performances led to exciting matches filled with intense action and skillful plays.
