Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), a tribal political party in India, is urging the Union government to impose President‘s Rule to stop the ongoing violence in Manipur and restore law and order. The demand was made after an eight-year-old boy and his mother were burnt alive by a mob in the West Imphal district of Manipur. JMM blames Union Home Minister Amit Shah for failing to find a peaceful solution between warring Meitei and Kuki groups. The party also criticized the BJP-led government for not being able to maintain law and order in the states it governs. Ahead of Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren‘s scheduled visit to Patna to attend the all-opposition party meeting on June 23, JMM urged its workers to increase membership drives across coal-bearing districts of the state and neighboring West Bengal. The Jharkhand Colliery Mazdoor Union also passed a resolution to stage protests and demand better conditions for coal workers.
