Bihar cabinet member Santosh Kumar Suman has resigned from his post, according to sources in India. His father, Jitan Ram Manjhi, said the move was taken after detailed discussions with the family. Manjhi has claimed that attempts were made to remove him when he was Bihar chief minister. He said he now had two choices: merge with the JD-U or sever ties with the Mahagathbandhan and has chosen the latter option. We are not those who will merge with any party, Manjhi said. He added that a meeting would be held next week to discuss the next steps for the Hindustani Awam Morcha party.
