Jharkhand Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan engaged in a Lok Samvad Programme at Sunderpahari in Godda district. During the dialogue, he expressed his pleasure over the construction of 50,000 houses in the district under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. A woman told him that she is delighted after getting a pucca house from a kutcha house and the governor said that the aim of the government is that every homeless person should have their own house. The government is working on fulfilling the basic needs of the people, including uninterrupted electricity, good roads, advanced healthcare, and education.
The governor expressed happiness over the 1 lakh women joining the self-help groups in Godda district. By joining the self-help groups, women are empowered, and the standard of living of their families improved. He encouraged every woman to take advantage of the government’s schemes and become self-reliant.
A Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya student expressed her dream of becoming a teacher in the future and providing education to small girls. The governor appreciated the girl’s enthusiasm and expressed his hope for her success. He said that 7,000 km of roads have been constructed in the past 21 districts, and he has established a dialogue with the villagers of Jharkhand by visiting more than 1,000. By doing so, he became aware of the status of scheme implementation, and the people’s problems will be resolved at the relevant level.
The government is also working on the Nal-Jal Yojana, where drinking water will be supplied to every house. He observed the stalls set up by various departments and distributed the assets among the beneficiaries. The governor’s focus is on fulfilling the basic needs of people to lead a dignified life.
Through self-help groups, many women are now financially stable and earning 15-20 thousand per month by doing goat-rearing or opening a grocery shop by taking loans.
This program was part of the Governor’s constant efforts to bring cultural and economical growth in Jharkhand.
