Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s trip to Tamil Nadu has been cancelled due to health issues, according to a statement by Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, the Bihar Finance Minister and member of the Janata Dal United (JD-U) party. Kumar’s deputy, Tejashwi Yadav, arrived at the airport to travel with him, expecting the trip to proceed as scheduled. However, Kumar sent Sanjay Kumar Jha of his kitchen cabinet in his place at the last minute. Reacting to this sudden development, Bihar BJP spokesperson Arvind Kumar Singh questioned the timing of the cancellation. He suggested that Kumar may not be interested in participating in an opposition party meeting in Patna, adding that it could lead to a setback in the opposition’s unity before the upcoming Lok Sabha election. National General Secretary of BJP OBC Wing Nikhil Anand accused Kumar of feigning illness on several occasions to avoid meetings with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Meanwhile, Kumar’s political friends are said to be worried about his unpredictable moves.
