According to Minister of State (Defence) Ajay Bhatt, the recent G20 event held in Jammu and Kashmir has highlighted the state’s development. Bhatt stated that the government has a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, and has been working tirelessly for the development of Jammu and Kashmir. Despite opposition fears that there would be violence following the abrogation of Article 370, Bhatt stated that peaceful conditions in the state have been the result thus far, and that the state is now striving for excellence in all areas.
During the G20 event, the Tourism Ministry expressed its interest in collaborating with G20 nations to promote sustainable tourism in India and globally. Minister of Culture, Tourism and the Development of the North Eastern Region, G Kishan Reddy, highlighted that progress has been made in five key priority areas under the 3rd Tourism Working Group Meeting: Green Tourism, Digitalization, Skills, MSMEs and Destination Management. These are all crucial components for accelerating the transition of the tourism sector as India strives to achieve its targets for 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant was pleased with the progress made in all of these priority areas.
