Jaishankar visits Delhi Gurdwara as Afghan Sikhs raise concerns about Indian citizenship and visas

Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar recently visited a Gurdwara in Delhi and met with Afghan Sikhs who have raised concerns regarding obtaining Indian citizenship and visas. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Jaishankar assured the Afghan Sikh refugees that the government would address their issues and provide all possible help, including assistance with citizenship and visas. He also spoke on the Citizenship Amendment Act, saying that sometimes we politicize everything, but this is not a matter of politics but a matter of humanity. EAM Jaishankar also offered prayers at the Gurudwara Guru Arjan Dev Ji Gurudwara in Delhi and was honoured with a Sharopa by the Afghan Sikhs. He also explained how the Indian government had helped minorities after the Taliban takeover of Kabul, adding we did what we had to do. Moreover, the Indian government is trying to help restore a Gurdwara in Kabul.
