After meeting with a student who recently returned from Ukraine, India‘s External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, suggested that it would be beneficial for Indian students to take their exams in India since the situation in Ukraine is still difficult. The student reportedly praised the Indian Embassy for their support during tough times in Ukraine. This comes after thousands of Indian medical students were left stranded and evacuated from Ukraine to India following Russia‘s invasion of Ukraine earlier this year. Ukraine’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova previously addressed the situation by stating that foreign medical students, including those from India, would be allowed to take the Unified State Qualification Exam in their country of domicile. In addition to discussing this topic, Jaishankar also visited victims of the 1984 riots and addressed their day-to-day issues, including high electricity bills.
