A police constable in Jammu and Kashmir has been dismissed from service for unauthorised absence from duty and allegations of involvement in narcotics cases. Arvind Kapoor, who joined the Ramban district police force in 2019, had been absent from duty since October of the same year, and was arrested several times for narcotics smuggling. Despite receiving several show-cause notices, Kapoor failed to resume his duties, prompting authorities to issue an order dismissing him from his position. Three FIRs were filed against Kapoor at Bakshi Nagar Police Station in connection with his alleged involvement in narcotics smuggling.
