Income Tax officials conducted raids on the homes of three members of the ruling Telangana BRS Party for alleged tax evasion and illegal cash transactions. The raids took place simultaneously in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and other locations in Telangana. The three members targeted were Medak MP Prabhakar Reddy, Nagarkurnool MLA Marri Janardhan Reddy, and Bhongir MLA P Shekhar Reddy, who owns a construction company involved in residential and commercial properties, mining in South Africa, and renewable energy projects.
Two IT companies in the city were also searched. The tax officials are verifying the sources of income, especially immovable properties. Sekhar Reddy’s family members, who run the Theertha Group, were also under investigation. Prabhakar Reddy’s offices were searched, along with his residence. Janardhan Reddy’s real estate business activities were scrutinized.
The investigation is ongoing, and the officials are collecting information and data to pursue any potential illegal activities committed by the three BRS Party leaders.
