IRGC Navy Gains Control in Persian Gulf as US Aircraft Carriers Comply with Rules: Commander
Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy has reportedly asserted its authority in the Persian Gulf, as American aircraft carriers abide by maritime regulations and warnings issued by the IRGC Navy. Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri, the commander of the IRGC Navy, made this statement during a conference of IRGC commanders, highlighting the strength and power projected by his forces in the region.
According to Tangsiri, even US warships carrying airplanes and helicopters now follow the rules set by the IRGC Navy when crossing the Persian Gulf. He also mentioned that the NATO forces consider and respect the warnings given by the IRGC Navy. Tangsiri shared an incident where IRGC vessels approached a US aircraft carrier, causing the warship to retreat 180 miles away.
Emphasizing the IRGC Navy’s advancements in combat capabilities, Tangsiri discussed the development of various drones for surveillance, attack, and reconnaissance purposes. He proudly mentioned that the IRGC Navy possesses highly effective coast-to-sea missiles. Furthermore, Tangsiri stated that his forces have successfully manufactured military speed boats with an astonishing velocity of 110 knots (203 km/h). These speed boats are equipped with rocket-launchers, making them a valuable asset for defense and offensive operations.
Another significant achievement highlighted by Tangsiri was Iran’s ability to fly drones from the deck of military vessels, making it the first country in West Asia to achieve this capability.
