Introducing New IBEX BPO Portmore Location Creating 1,500 Global Job Opportunities

IBEX Global Jamaica, a business process outsourcing (BPO) company, has opened a new location in Portmore, St Catherine, creating an additional 1,500 jobs in the sector. The state-of-the-art complex, occupying 80,000 square feet of space in Building Two at the GTECH Park, is the second of three buildings occupied by IBEX Global on the site. With this expansion, the company now has a total of five locations across the island.

Senator Aubyn Hill, the Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, praised IBEX Global’s growth in the BPO sector, which he described as one of the fastest-growing sectors in Jamaica. Senator Hill noted that the sector had experienced 20% growth throughout the years of the pandemic and even before that. He also shared that the BPO and global digital services sector in Jamaica currently employs more than 60,000 people.

Alando Terrelonge, the Member of Parliament for St Catherine East Central, expressed the government’s commitment to providing the necessary infrastructure to transform Portmore into the 15th parish and a prime location for business.

Tamara Ricketts-Brown, Senior Vice President of Operations and Jamaica Country Manager at IBEX, highlighted the company’s recognition of Jamaica’s potential and praised the talent and passion of its people. She emphasized their commitment to fostering business growth and establishing Jamaica as the premier business services and technology hub in the Caribbean.

The BPO sector in Jamaica offers a broad range of digital services, including customer care, technical support, accounting, advisory support, and human resources. This latest expansion by IBEX Global signifies a milestone in Jamaica’s journey to becoming a global leader in the sector.

The news of IBEX Global’s expansion and the creation of 1,500 new jobs is a positive development for the BPO industry in Jamaica.
