CHENNAI: Information technology and digital services minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan will inaugurate Kani Tamil24, an international Tamil computing conference, at the Chennai Trade Centre on Thursday.
The conference aims to promote research, development of new ideas, and the identification of young talents in emerging language technologies. Tamil enthusiasts, computing scholars, computational linguists, and IT experts from around the world will gather for this significant event, which will conclude on Feb 10. The conference will feature engaging panel discussions, lectures, paper presentations, and competitions.
Kani Tamil24 marks the silver jubilee of the TamilNet99 conference, which was conducted under the late chief minister M Karunanidhi. The Tamil Virtual Academy, a product of TamilNet99, is organizing this year’s conference.
The primary objective of Kani Tamil24 is to strengthen the place of Tamil in the rapidly growing age of technology. By creating an environment that encourages the increased use of Tamil language in the technological sector, the conference aims to elevate its significance and relevance.
