The Inter-state bus terminus (ISBT) at NayataMundla in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, is about 95% complete, according to IDA officials who inspected the project work. The IDA chairman, Jaypal Singh Chawda, stated that projects are being developed for traffic management, city development, and citizen convenience. The ISBT, costing about Rs 15 crores, has the capacity to handle approximately 600 buses and 30,000 passengers daily. It will offer multiple ticket windows, rest rooms for drivers, and other basic facilities. IDA officials also confirmed that the ISBT will have 15 bus bays and 30 bays dedicated to idle bus parking, as well as on-site parking facilities provided for two-wheelers, four-wheelers, autos, and taxis.
The terminal building will have 14 commercial shops, one restaurant, ATMs, a medical room, a cloakroom, and a waiting hall with capacity for 240 people. There will also be 14 offices for bus operators, a police post, and several public washroom facilities located throughout the campus. Officials added that a special area would be designated for taxi and auto pick-up and drop.
IDA officials also inspected the under-construction part of RE-2, which will connect the bus terminus to Nemawar road. The IDA CEO, RP Ahirwar, and other senior officers of the authority, as well as the architect of the scheme and other officers of the construction agency, were present. Officials stated that the ISBT’s work had reached its final stage, and it would be inaugurated for public use soon.
IDA officials assured citizens that the project was being developed to improve traffic management, city development and facilities, and the ISBT would be a beneficial contribution to the community.
