Ramesh Khandelwal, the president of Ahilya Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been appointed as a member of the National Traders’ Welfare Board. The Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued the order on Monday. The board consists of 13 members and covers all states and union territories; the tenure of all members is two years.
The board is chaired by Sunil Jivraj Singi of Ahmedabad, and the joint secretaries of various ministries of the Central Government and NITI Aayog are invitee members of the Board. The board’s recommendations will be monitored by Union Minister Piyush Goyal.
Khandelwal has stated that the first meeting of the National Traders Welfare Board will be soon held to brainstorm solutions for the issues faced by traders. The board will gather suggestions from traders across the country and recommend them to the Government of India.
This nomination recognizes Khandelwal’s contributions to the commerce and industry sector in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The welfare board’s formation will provide some relief to the traders who have been facing various problems.
