After a clash between Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists in Indore, the party has removed two of its high-ranking members from their respective posts. Shubhendra Gaud, the BJYM state secretary, and Nayan Soni, the BJYM working committee member, were removed from their positions shortly after giving an explanation regarding the incident. Meanwhile, BJYM city president Saugat Mishra, who was attacked during the clash, received a clean chit and will not face any repercussions.
The altercation occurred at a restaurant near Bhanwarkuan Square, where Saugat Mishra was attacked by Shubhendra and his supporters. The incident was witnessed by other members of the BJYM, including state president Vaibhav Pawar, who was also pushed around during the fight. A video of the altercation went viral, leading to a swift response from the party leadership.
City president Gaurav Ranadive summoned Saugat and Shubhendra to the party office on the day of the incident. The following day, 20 prominent city leaders requested strict action from the state leadership. Soon after, notices were issued to Shubhendra, Nayan, and Saugat, asking for an explanation about their involvement in the clash.
After receiving explanations from Shubhendra and Nayan, the party quickly decided to remove them from their positions. The incident has drawn attention to the BJYM’s internal strife, which could have implications for upcoming political campaigns. For now, however, the party has taken corrective measures to ensure that leaders abide by its code of conduct.
