Indigo Hospitality, in partnership with The House of Abhinandan Lodha, is set to launch a new restaurant project in Alibaug, which is expected to open its doors in the early stages of the next fiscal year. The restaurant will be a part of the renowned builder’s ‘The A: Alibaug’ project. This collaboration marks an important milestone in the development of the coastal holiday town, as it brings a premium dining experience to the area.
The CEO of The House of Abhinandan Lodha, Samujjwal Ghosh, expressed excitement about the project, stating that their goal is to provide customers with a holistic experience. He believes that Indigo’s popularity and reputation make it the perfect fit for Alibaug, filling a gap in the market for fine dining. The project is tentatively titled ‘Indigo at Alibaug’ and will occupy a space of 5,200 square feet.
Founder of Indigo Hospitality, Anurag Katriar, also expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the shared passion for delivering memorable moments. Both parties believe that this collaboration will contribute to the success of the venture.
Indigo Hospitality currently operates eight outlets in Mumbai, including popular establishments such as Neel, Indigo Cafe, and Indigo Burger Project.
The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) reported a significant decline of 53% in the food services industry during the fiscal year 2020-21. The industry’s estimated worth dropped to ₹2,00,762 crore compared to ₹4,23,624 crore in the previous year. However, it was projected that by the end of the fiscal year 2021-22, the sector would recover and reach a size of ₹4,72,285 crore. With around 73 lakh people employed, the food services industry is one of the largest employment generators for the economy. The NRAI represents approximately five lakh restaurants, with an industry value of approximately ₹4,00,000 crore.
In conclusion, the partnership between Indigo Hospitality and The House of Abhinandan Lodha marks an exciting development in the Alibaug dining scene. The upcoming ‘Indigo at Alibaug’ restaurant promises to provide customers with a much-needed fine-dining experience. This collaboration not only fulfills a gap in the market but also has the potential to drive development in the entire area. As the food services industry continues to recover, this venture holds promise for both the partners involved and the local economy as a whole.
