India’s Prasar Bharati Signs Agreement with Malaysian Public Broadcaster to Boost Radio and TV Cooperation

New Delhi, Dec 27 – The Union Cabinet has been briefed on the cooperation pact between Prasar Bharati, India’s public broadcaster, and the Malaysian public broadcaster, Radio Televisyen Malaysia. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two organizations on November 7 aims to strengthen cooperation in the fields of radio and television, including the exchange of news and audio-visual programs.

During a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet highlighted the immense potential of this agreement in bolstering ties with Malaysia and promoting bilateral cooperation in broadcasting. Prasar Bharati, which plays a crucial role in nation-building, focuses on providing meaningful and accurate content within and outside the country.

With this recent pact, Prasar Bharati has now entered into such agreements with 46 countries, which are expected to play a vital role in content distribution, forming partnerships with international broadcasters, and addressing the demands of new technologies.

These MoUs are going to be crucial in distribution of content in other countries, in developing partnerships with international broadcasters and exploring new strategies to address the demands of new technologies, said an official statement.

Prasar Bharati’s efforts to foster cooperation and expand its reach in the global broadcasting arena are commendable. The agreement with Radio Televisyen Malaysia marks another milestone in India’s international broadcasting collaborations.
