Jettwings Airways, Guwahati-based airlines, has announced receiving the go-ahead from the Indian government to operate ‘Scheduled Commuter Air Transport Services’ in northeast India. After obtaining regulatory approval and AOC (Air Operator Certificate) from the DGCA, the airline will be the first company in the northeastern region to operate airline services in the country. The company plans to offer regional connectivity services to passengers, taking advantage of the Central Government’s UDAN scheme, to several destinations in the northeast and eastern regions at reasonable rates. It aims to cut down travel time drastically and expects to become a reliable and sustainable airline after acquiring AOC. Jettwings Airways intends to introduce a modern fleet of flight deck turbo-fan aircraft and turbo-propelled planes for regional connectivity and fulfill unique routes’ demand. The airline’s initial fleet will consist of four 80-seater aircraft and has started recruiting human resources in various departments.
