External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi‘s recent criticism of the Indian government during his US visit, stating that inviting interference from foreign entities is a problem. Jaishankar stated that arguments and differing opinions are normal in a democracy, but it becomes concerning when leaders take India’s issues outside of the country and invite interference. During his US trip, Rahul Gandhi criticised the RSS and BJP, which drew criticism from the BJP who accused him of sullying India’s image. He further claimed that the country faced a battle between two ideologies – one supported by Congress and the other by BJP and its parent, RSS. The Congress leader claimed that the BJP and RSS espoused the ideas of Nathuram Godse, the rightwing leader who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi.
