Playback singer Chinmayi Sripaada has held many individuals responsible for safeguarding lyricist Vairamuthu over claims of sexual harassment. Sripaada has been fighting for the past five years for allegations made against Vairamuthu and has criticised people who have remained silent over the issue. According to her tweets, 17 women have spoken out on alleged harassment allegations against Vairamuthu. Despite writing a letter to Chief Minister MK Stalin, Sripaada said that the government had been silent over the matter and that the rules should be the same for Vairamuthu and Brij Bhushan, who was accused of sexually harassing seven female wrestlers.
