Former Tripura chief minister Biplab Deb has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making India a strong nation over the past nine years. Speaking at a ‘Gauravshali Bharat Rally’ in Gurugram’s Jatauli, Deb said that India has emerged as a bold country with the courage to enter the enemy’s house and perform surgical strikes. The rally, organised by Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh, saw a large turnout despite heavy rainfall.
The move comes as opposition parties held a meeting in Patna, with their alliance aiming to remove Modi from his position. The BJP Haryana in-charge OP Dhankar has criticised the opposition for not having any policies, leadership, or intention, while the BJP has the personality and leadership of Modi. Dhankhar went on to criticize the Congress, calling June 25, the day emergency was imposed by Indira Gandhi, a black day in India’s history.
Despite political tensions, the public remains interested in Deb’s comments about India’s emergence as a strong nation. Many credit Modi’s leadership for prioritising security and foreign policies, leading to several successful diplomatic agreements and increased military strength.
Overall, people in India are split between supporting Modi and believing that India’s growth is a result of other factors. While there are certainly achievements to be proud of, there are also ongoing challenges, such as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which will determine the ultimate success of Modi’s leadership.
