Family members and villagers in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, are in mourning following the death of 29-year-old Karan Yadav in a terror attack in Poonch. Karan, who served as an Army driver, leaves behind his wife and two children, 6-year-old daughter Arya and 1-year-old son Ayush. They received the devastating news late on Thursday night.
Karan Kumar Yadav, a resident of Bhaupur, had joined the Army in 2013 and was posted in Rajouri. His father, a farmer, and his younger brother, who works in a private job, are also grieving the loss of their son and brother. Karan was the sole breadwinner of the family.
Arun Kumar, Karan’s younger brother, shared how he last spoke to his brother on December 20, urging him to visit their parents soon. However, Karan mentioned that he would come during Holi. Arun received a distressing call from his sister-in-law at 12:30 am, informing him that Karan had been hit by a bullet. Shortly after, they learned from a senior official that Karan had lost his life.
Balak Ram Yadav, Karan’s father, expressed his shock at receiving the news of his son’s demise at midnight. He spoke with Karan on Wednesday, where Karan mentioned his plans to visit in February. The family is now trying to come to terms with the loss of their beloved Karan.
Following the terror attack in Poonch, security forces have launched a search operation in the forest area of Dera Ki Gali in the Rajouri sector. Local suspects have been detained for further investigation.
According to defense sources, around 30 Pakistani terrorists are suspected to be active in the Rajouri-Poonch sector, adding to the gravity and concern surrounding the attack.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) team has arrived at the attack area in the Rajouri district of Jammu. Security personnel are continuing search operations in the forest area of Dera Ki Gali as they gather more information and evidence.
Four Army personnel lost their lives while three others sustained injuries in the terrorist attack on two military vehicles in the Thanamandi area of Rajouri on Thursday.
In the ambush, the terrorists targeted two army vehicles transporting troops to an operational site. Army officials reported an immediate retaliation against the attackers.
