The Indian Navy continues to diligently monitor maritime security in the north and central Arabian Sea. The Ministry of Defence has affirmed the Navy’s commitment to ensuring the safety of merchant shipping and seafarers in the region. With Indian Naval ships and aircraft deployed for enhanced surveillance and maritime security operations, they have recently investigated numerous fishing vessels and boarded vessels of interest. Continuous surveillance is maintained through the deployment of Indian Naval Maritime Patrol Aircraft and RPAs. The Information Management and Analysis Centre (IMAC) and Information Fusion Centre – Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR) are actively monitoring white shipping, particularly Indian Flagged Merchant Vessels. Moreover, in coordination with the Coast Guard, the Indian Navy is reinforcing surveillance efforts within the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
