Two Indian youth leaders have travelled to Cuba to show their support and to learn more about Cuba’s resistance against U.S. economic, commercial, and financial blockade. Mayukh Biswas, general secretary of the Students’ Federation of India, and Nitheesh Narayanan, the organization’s vice-president, announced their participation in a solidarity mission to Cuba via Twitter.

During their stay, Biswas and Narayanan are expecting to learn about the effects of the imperialist aggression and the resilience of the Cuban Revolution. Moreover, they look forward to seeing the building of a revolutionary society and garnering knowledge from the nation’s distinguished people and commitment to socialism. In addition, both of them are editors of the Student Struggle, the Central Executive Committee’s journal of the SFI, a movement that works to secure the rights of young Indians.

The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) is a student union organization based in India that is dedicated to advocating for the rights of students. It was established in 1970 and is a part of the All India Students’ Federation. SFI is committed to making college and university education accessible to all students in India, specifically fighting for a better education system. The Student Struggle journal of the Central Executive Committee of SFI aims to bring together student voices to actively engage in debates concerning education, gender, and socio-economics, among other issues.

Mayukh Biswas and Nitheesh Narayanan are influential leaders of this organization that respond to issues concerning education and the rights of young citizens. As part of their mission to Cuba, they are dedicated to learning about the effects of imperialist aggression and the creative resistance of the Revolution. Both Mayukh and Nitheesh also took the opportunity to join the World Federation of Democratic Youth and the Solidarity Mission, through which they hope to upgrade their knowledge and provide a better platform to advocate for the rights of those who are not so fortunate.
