Indian Army Colonel, Major, and DSP Killed in Encounter with Terrorists in Anantnag
Anantnag district in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a tragic incident as an encounter between the Indian Army and terrorists claimed the lives of three officers. Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Dhonak, and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Humayun Bhat were killed during a gunfight in the Kokernag area of Anantnag.
The operation against the terrorists was jointly conducted by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The slain officers were leading the operation when they encountered the terrorists. The encounter took place in the Narla area, and the terrorists were eliminated during the operation. The security forces also recovered a significant quantity of warlike stores, including medicines with markings from Pakistan.
