According to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, India is projected to be one of the top three economies in the world by 2027. Speaking at a convocation ceremony at Gopal Narayan Singh University in Rohtas, Bihar, Singh urged the country’s youth to contribute to India’s development and help make it a developed nation by 2047. He spoke about the surge in start-ups in India in recent years, with nearly one lakh new start-ups and over 100 unicorns currently operating in the country. Singh also urged students to focus on character building and spiritual growth, in addition to academic and mental development, and to maintain a connection with India’s cultural traditions and values. He emphasized that a person’s worth in India is not just assessed by their level of knowledge, but also through their values and behavior and how they use their skills to contribute to society. The Defense Minister called on the country’s teaching fraternity to continue to light the eternal flame of learning in the hearts and minds of students, saying that education is crucial for personal growth and the development of society.
