Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami recently spoke about the importance of the Block Pramukh in the three-tier Panchayati system during a dialogue program with them at his residence. He emphasized that they are responsible for carrying forward the government’s schemes in their areas and will play a crucial role in the development process.
Chief Minister Dhami further announced that the honorarium of block heads will be increased soon. He assured that an appropriate decision will be taken regarding the demands of the block heads and other officials after assessing all the requests.
The Chief Minister acknowledged several public welfare schemes led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He mentioned the opening of Jan Dhan accounts for the poor and how funds are now being directly channeled to beneficiaries through various schemes, resulting in a significant rise in digital transactions. He also noted the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana and the relief provided by PM Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, every house tap, and every house water, among others.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the state government is also taking initiatives to uplift people in the last line of society. Various projects are being executed in agriculture, horticulture, and tourism in the state under a new tourism policy. He informed that through the Uttarakhand Atal Ayushman Yojana, each family is provided with free health facilities, and antyodaya card holders are entitled to three cylinders free of cost, benefitting 1,81,000 poor families in the state. The apple and kiwi mission is being completed at a rapid pace, and cinnamon and Timur have also been taken as missions.
