A group of forest officials in Maharashtra, India have been the subject of controversy after being transferred in a way that some BJP legislators have objected to. Ashish Jaiswal and three other legislators wrote to the state forest minister Sudhir Mungantiwar to recall the decision, alleging that proper procedure wasn’t followed during the transfer process. Despite criticism, Mungantiwar explained that he prefers to focus on policy decisions and doesn’t personally get involved with personnel transfers. He did, however, launch an investigation into the complaints lodged by the MLAs. Mungantiwar assured reporters that any necessary action will be taken on the matter.
