Delhi police have arrested a 26-year-old arms supplier who was operating on behalf of handlers based in the USA and Dubai. The accused, identified as Mukand Singh from Punjab, was caught near Sarai Kale Khan bus terminal while supplying firearms to the members of Lawrence Bishnoi-Kala Jathedi gang. The police received a tip-off that one US-based illegal immigrant from India was supplying illicit weapons to criminals in Delhi and Punjab. The accused has been supplying illegal arms and ammunition for the last six months and was arrested with 25 pistols, two extra magazines and 50 live cartridges in possession. During the interrogation, the accused revealed that he was in touch with Dilpreet Singh of Punjab, who had migrated to the USA last year illegally, and was supplying the weapons in collaboration with Mannu, a driver based in Dubai. Singh had procured illegal arms from Burhanpur based illegal manufacturer. Along with illegal weapons, he had also sent opium to Dilpreet through courier, the police added.
