India News – 25th and 26th Batches of CBI Sub-Inspector Trainees Successfully Complete Training at Academy

The 25th and 26th batches of CBI Sub-Inspector trainees recently graduated from the CBI Academy following an Investiture Ceremony in Ghaziabad. The Director of CBI, Praveen Sood, was the chief guest at the event, where he encouraged the young officers to work hard to maintain the high standards of the organisation. He emphasised that the officers’ long careers ahead would play a significant role in ensuring a bright future and maintaining the CBI’s high reputation.

Director Sood also highlighted that the real test for the new officers starts now as they are required to put into practice the important lessons learned during multi-faceted training imparted by the CBI Academy in various aspects of the investigation. He reminded the officers of the immense faith reposed by the public, government, and judiciary, which is a matter of great pride for the organisation.

The ceremony honoured 36 officers from the 25th and 26th batches, comprising 20 B-Tech, 2 M-Tech, and 14 Post Graduates/Graduates in Science and Arts. The Director of CBI distributed several awards at the ceremony, including The D. P. Kohli Trophy for Best All Round SI Trainee to Vijay Kumar, the Director’s Trophy for Indoor Studies to Sidharth Gilhotra, the John Lobo Trophy for Best Outdoor SI Trainee to Devvrat Tomar, CBI Academy Trophy for Dedication and Exemplary Conduct to Gaurav Saini, Trophy for Cyber Crime Investigation to Shri Sidharth Gilhotra, and a cash reward of Rs.50,000/- for exemplary performance in CFE Examination to Kalibabu Gunda.

Director Sood advised the officers to be fair and just while discharging their duties, maintaining the ethos of working hard and quietly that is ingrained in the philosophy of CBI. He also advised officers to continuously keep upgrading and updating their knowledge and skills, especially with regard to new-age crimes occurring in cyberspace, for its application to the investigation. Additionally, he suggested that officers strike the right balance between working life and family life.

Finally, Director Sood presented Union Home Minister‘s Medals for Excellence in Police Training to J. S. Emmanuel, SP (Training), and Akansha Gupta, Dy. SP, both of CBI Academy.
