Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has suggested that the National Capital Civil Services Authority (NCCSA) should wait for its next meeting in light of an upcoming bill related to its establishment that will be tabled in Parliament. In a note from the Chief Minister’s office, it was stated that the Bill replacing the Ordinance will be presented to Parliament in the coming week, and therefore, the Authority should postpone its next meeting.

The next meeting of the Authority, if not postponed, will be held at the Chief Minister’s camp office on July 28. The Chief Minister had previously deferred a meeting of the NCCSA to July 14.

The NCCSA was established through an ordinance in May, but the AAP dispensation has challenged the Central government’s ordinance in the Supreme Court. The matter has been referred to a Constitution Bench by the apex court.

The main task of the NCCSA is to finalize the postings of IAS officers of the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory) cadre who were transferred to Delhi from outside by the Ministry of Home Affairs last month.
