United States President Joe Biden proudly announced the finalization of a historic agreement for the establishment of the new India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor. This corridor aims to streamline trade by investing in ships and railways, connecting India to Europe through the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Israel. President Biden expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their contributions to this transformative project.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also praised the agreement, describing it as a historic development. The corridor will establish the most direct connection to date between India, the Arabian Gulf, and Europe, significantly reducing trade duration by 40% through a rail link.
French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the project’s commitment to establishing the world’s first global green trade route, including hydrogen as part of the corridor. Similarly, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz affirmed Germany’s dedication to ensuring successful implementation of the project.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed the significance of the corridor’s launch in strengthening global integration and economic growth. She acknowledged and thanked Prime Minister Modi, President Biden, and all the participants involved in making this initiative possible.
