India Clinches Two More Gold Medals in Junior World Cup Shooting at Suhl

India continues to dominate the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Junior in Suhl, Germany, with two more gold medals added to their tally. Amanpreet Singh claimed gold in the men’s 25m Pistol event with a score of 586, while the women’s 25m Pistol team comprising Megana Sadula, Payal Khatri and Simranpreet Kaur Brar secured team gold with a combined score of 1719. India now has five gold, four silver and two bronze medals, cementing their position at the top of the medal tally.

In the women’s individual event, Megana, Payal and Divanshi made it to the final, but Megana finished fourth with 22 hits, Payal fifth with 18 hits and Divanshi was seventh with 11 hits. Meanwhile, in the men’s individual event, apart from Amanpreet’s gold medal, Swaraj Bhondave secured eighth position with a score of 574, Meshaak Ponnudurai ninth with 574, Abhimanyu Yadav 13th with 571, and Ankait Tomar finished 14th with 569.

India also participated in the junior men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions, where Avinash Yadav secured the 28th position with a score of 573, Parikshit Singh Brar finished 31st with a score of 572, Ramanya Tomar was placed 40th with a score of 567, and Harsh Singh finished 45th with a score of 566.

The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) informed on Tuesday that India has two more competition days left in the top competition for junior shooters. The current medal tally reaffirms the country’s prowess in shooting and chances of dominating the competition further. The Indian contingent is bringing great pride to the country with their exceptional performance at the event.
