Two people lost their lives in a tragic incident at an illegally-run plastic moulding factory in Delhi’s Gokalpuri area. The incident occurred when a compressor exploded in an air compressor tank at the factory. The blast injured three people, two of whom were rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, one of the injured victims also succumbed to their injuries later on.

The blast took place at around 3.30 pm on Saturday. Upon receiving a PCR call regarding the explosion, the police, local authorities, and the fire department immediately rushed to the scene. Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the factory was operating illegally from a rented accommodation of approximately 150 square yards.

The owner of the property, Naresh, had rented the premises to a man named Yadav, who was running the factory. However, both Naresh and Yadav could not be contacted as their mobile phones were switched off. The authorities are making efforts to trace them soon.

The deceased have been identified as Bablu, a 38-year-old compressor mechanic from Rohini Sector-22, and Karan, a 60-year-old individual. Bablu tragically lost his life on the spot, while Karan passed away during treatment at the hospital.

Investigations into the incident are still ongoing. The blast occurred in the air compressor tank used in the plastic moulding machine. It is essential to highlight the dangers associated with illegal and unsafe operations, especially in industries involving hazardous materials.

The authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the blast and ensure that those responsible are held accountable. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to safety regulations and conducting regular inspections to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future.

It is crucial for business owners and property owners to prioritize the safety of their workers and tenants. The government and concerned agencies should also strengthen their efforts to identify and shut down illegally-operated factories to prevent such tragedies.

Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the victims during this difficult time. May they find the strength to cope with their loss, and may the injured victims recover swiftly.
