Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, has signed an agreement with tech firm HCLTech to collaborate on sustainable solutions for the petroleum industry. The partnership will focus on reducing carbon footprints and developing eco-friendly solutions that promote innovation. HCLTech will also provide IIT-Kharagpur students and research scholars with opportunities for internships, projects, and the use of state-of-the-art technology for developing digital solutions in exploration and drilling. The collaboration will initiate programmes on sustainability that include discussions and joint presentations, particularly in the exploration, drilling and production of hydrocarbons.
