The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur has joined forces with authorities in Nagpur to create a district development strategy to boost the local economy. IIMN Director Dr Bhimaraya Metri signed the memorandum of understanding with Nagpur Collector Dr Vipin Itankar, alongside Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Divisional Commissioner Vijayalaxmi Bidari. The move is aimed at providing guidelines to assist the collector in adopting strategies that could turn Nagpur district into an attractive destination for corporate investment. IIM Nagpur will function as a consultant to help develop action plans and strategies aligned with the district’s needs. Nagpur is seen as a potential catalyst for economic growth in Maharashtra, contributing to the Gulf state’s goal of becoming a $1tn economy by 2027.
