India’s Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, believes that if the skills and scale of India and the United States combine, the world will witness exceptional results. Adityanath made these remarks during a partnership program between Stanford University in the US and SGPGI and JIMS in Uttar Pradesh.

Adityanath highlighted India’s population, which is four times that of the United States, and the country’s impressive performance during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite having a lower COVID-19 mortality rate compared to the US, India managed to provide exceptional healthcare facilities to its citizens.

The Chief Minister emphasized the progress made by Uttar Pradesh in recent years and its emergence as a new hub for technology startups. He expressed the government’s enthusiasm in supporting the partnership between India and the US through the Indo-US Global Foundation.

Adityanath noted that Uttar Pradesh now offers a favorable environment for US innovation and startups in sectors like IT and electronics. The state government has established numerous startups under its startup policy and provided various relaxations and procurement arrangements to support their growth.

The Chief Minister praised SGPGI for its innovative approach during the pandemic, particularly the introduction of virtual ICUs. SGPGI’s team reached different cities in the state to provide relief, showcasing an excellent example of innovation and collaboration.

Adityanath also highlighted the state’s success in controlling diseases like encephalitis, with a significant decrease in child mortality due to encephalitis in the past six years. The government’s efforts, along with other supportive departments, contributed to this achievement. Additionally, the state has made progress in controlling water-borne and vector-borne diseases such as malaria, chikungunya, and dengue.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the partnership between SGPGI, JIMS, and Stanford University will promote startups in the field of medical health, benefiting healthcare innovation in the state.

During the program, Adityanath appealed for the connection of Sitapur’s eye hospital with technology, considering it is a renowned hospital where people from both India and abroad seek treatment for their eyes. He emphasized the importance of providing necessary facilities and infrastructure for the hospital.

The event was attended by Chief Secretary Durgashankar Mishra, Additional Chief Secretary (Chief Minister) S.P. Goyal, and the Principal Secretary of Medical Education.

Overall, Adityanath’s comments reflect the government’s commitment to healthcare innovation and collaboration with international institutions. The partnership between SGPGI, JIMS, and Stanford University holds the promise of advancing medical technology and improving the healthcare system in Uttar Pradesh and beyond.
