Bhopal police have managed to identify a crook woman who has made away with lakhs of rupees from people in various areas but has yet to be caught. The police raided her house located in Kodai village in Shujalpur last Wednesday. However, she managed to elude capture as her son had seen her wanted posters in their village and alerted her. Police officials say that the woman has been identified as Mishribai from Kodia village, and a reward of Rs 30,000 has been offered to anyone with leads to her whereabouts.
The police team questioned her family members, including her daughter, son-in-law, and husband, but they claimed to be unaware of her activities. There was a misconception that the woman would hypnotize people to gain their valuables and money; however, this is completely absurd, according to a senior crime branch official. The first victim of the fraud was a young child, who was petrified due to the incident.
Mishribai had arrived in Bhopal just two months ago and had first targeted the house of Dr. Arvind Chouhan in TT Nagar. She would knock people’s doors and offer jewelry in exchange for money to perform religious rituals. After receiving the cash and handing over fake jewelry, she would vanish without a trace. Her movements were also recorded in CCTV footage in other areas such as Mandideep, Baadi, and Biaora.
The police are continuing their search for the accused woman, who has fled with her son. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shrut Kirti Somwanshi, the TT Nagar police station SHO Chain Singh Raghuwanshi and a three-member team of the crime branch have raided Kodia village and are persevering in their efforts to apprehend the woman.
Despite the police’s efforts, the crook woman still remains on the loose. The locals are urged to remain vigilant and immediately report any sightings of Mishribai or any suspicious individuals.
