Two senior officers, IPS Sushil Kumar and IAS Girdhar Beniwal, have been suspended for allegedly assaulting employees at the Makrana Raj Hotel in Ajmer district, Rajasthan. An investigation has been ordered against the officers by the Department of Personnel. The incident, which was captured on CCTV, took place on June 11th at 2am, when IPS officer Sushil Kumar reportedly slapped a hotel staff member who asked him to use the hotel’s common toilet. Later, an ASI and other police personnel reportedly entered the staff room and beat the hotel staff. Ajmer North MLA Vasudev Devnani has condemned the incident and called for a fair investigation to be conducted. In response, Ajmer Range IG Lata Manoj has stated that action will only be taken against the accused after a fair investigation.
