Hyundai Motor Group has revealed it has invested KRW1.3tn ($1bn) in over 200 global start-ups since 2017, with the majority of investment going to mobility services, powertrain electrification, connectivity, artificial intelligence and autonomous driving. The South Korean automaker unveiled the investments during its Open Innovation Tech Day event in Seoul, where it discussed existing and future strategies with start-up collaborators. Hyundai Cradle, which operates in locations including China, Germany, Israel, Singapore and the US, helps find and fund future mobility services. Hyundai Motor Group has also invested KRW700bn in mobility services including Singapore’s Grab and India’s OLA in the past seven years.
