Sen. Chris Murphy Admits Hunter Biden Charges ‘Legally Justified’

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) acknowledged on Sunday that the charges against Hunter Biden are legally justified, despite the fact that President Joe Biden’s son won’t be on the ballot in 2024.

During an appearance on NBC News’s Meet the Press, Murphy stated, I think this is a very troubled individual who has done things that are worthy of prosecution.

Hunter Biden was hit with nine new tax charges last week, including three felonies and six misdemeanors. These charges come in addition to his previous indictment for tax-related misdemeanors and a failed plea deal regarding firearm charges earlier this year.

Murphy expressed his anticipation for the ongoing case against Hunter Biden, stating, The American people understand that Hunter Biden is not going to be on the ballot next fall — that Joe Biden is going to be on the ballot.

However, instead of focusing solely on Hunter Biden, Murphy redirected the conversation towards former President Donald Trump’s family, suggesting that they have turned profiting off Trump’s presidency into an industry. He specifically mentioned Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, and his business dealings with Saudi Arabia.

When host Kristen Welker reminded Murphy that they were discussing Hunter Biden, not the Trump family, Murphy upheld his stance, saying, I think Hunter Biden is going to be held accountable in court for any violations of the law that he’s committed, and the American public is gonna get the chance to watch that play out in real-time.

Murphy then shifted the discussion to the upcoming 2024 election, predicting that there would be a significant difference between Biden and Trump. He claimed that another Trump presidency would criminalize abortion and give more handouts to billionaires and the wealthy. In contrast, he praised Biden for his role in economic recovery and dismissed concerns regarding poor ratings for the economy and Biden’s handling of it.

In conclusion, Sen. Chris Murphy acknowledged that the charges against Hunter Biden are legally justified and expressed his anticipation for the case to continue. Despite this admission, Murphy redirected the conversation towards the Trump family and the upcoming 2024 election, emphasizing the differences between Biden and Trump.
