Hugh Jackman Reunites with Former ‘Date’ Ahead of First Christmas Since Divorce
This year, to save himself from tears, Hugh Jackman reunited with his longtime gal pal, Pat Schoenfeld, on Christmas Eve as he spent his first festive season without his ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness.
The Wolverine star seemed to be in high spirits ahead of the holidays as he was seen catching up with his lifelong bestie, Pat. Pat is the widow of Gerald Schoenfeld, a famous Broadway theatre owner and producer. Hugh and Pat have grown very close over the years, bonding over their shared love for theatre, with Hugh often referring to her as his theatre date.
In a heartwarming Instagram post that showed his happiness, the 55-year-old star shared a photo of himself wrapping his arm around Pat as they chatted and enjoyed a delicious meal together. Hugh looked cozy and comfortable in a long-sleeved knit white sweater and navy blue trousers, while Pat opted for a festive look in a bright red turtleneck sweater.
The bond between Hugh and Pat has remained strong since the death of her husband Gerald in 2008. Hugh had been friends with Gerald for nearly a decade before his passing. In fact, Hugh wrote a heartfelt foreword in a biography about Gerald’s life titled Mr. Broadway: The Inside Story of the Shuberts, the Shows, and the Stars by the late Gerald Schoenfeld.
Opening up about his friendship with Pat and his gratitude for her role in the book, Hugh shared, I knew Jerry for only ten years. He changed my life in so many ways; now it is really time for me to learn about the other seventy years. Thank you, Pat, for making this book happen…and secretly I will always picture you working on it…in your bathrobe!
